Better than box fans, which I have been using for some years. Looks better, more acceptable in the room (looks good, takes up little space), works quieter, and I have four in different rooms of my house including the bedrooms. Only negative might be that I can't figure out how to completely clean the blades. All three speeds of the fan motor quit working. I tried to call and email Lasko directly and didn't receive a response for a month at which time they told me that they offer no replacement parts and that they would not assist any further. I am forced to discard the entire unit for a simple fan motor failure. This will be the LAST Lasko product I recommend or purchase mainly due to their rude customer service. All of their products are Made In China yet they advertise as if they sell an American made product.
